Maiden - Mother - Crone

Maiden Mother Crone - 50" X 78"
These are three faces of Goddess, relating to birth, life, death. The crone holds the labrys, from labyrinth, which represents the journey into the otherworld and out again. The ceremonial double-bladed ax was wielded as a scepter by the ancient Amazonian Goddess under her various names of Gaea, Rhea, Demeter or Artemis. The winged serpent rising out of the sea represents primordial wisdom.
